One of my favorite things to do is find healthy cafes to eat at when I travel. I also like to taste the local food
First place we ate at in Dusseldorf Germany - Café Aris- delicious Greek soup with whole wheat sourdough bread.
I try to stay away from bread but the bread was delicious over there. My favorite was the muesli bread
Half of my sandwich from a local bakery café in oldtown Dusseldorf. The bread was delicious. I didn't like the turkey as much. (I try to stay away from processed meat.) I love the simplicity of the sandwiches in Germany - A little meat, a little butter on the bread, and a few veggies.
Pannekoeken- Dutch Pancake. A cultural food experience in Amsterdam. Similar to a crepe, this dutch pancake is very light, fluffy, and delicious.
My Favorite Café in Koln ! - Café Schmitz. Loved this place - very healthy, local café. Lentil salad and shredded beat & carrot salad.
Café Schmitz - Koln Curried lentil soup with green onions and salad. The salad dressing was amazing. A very light lemon/oil vinaigrette with mustard seeds
Café Schmitz- Cologne. Fig Walnut cake/pie. This was delicious, not heavy at all. It was like a walnut/flour inside with bits of figs on top. Not very sweet which I liked
Le Pain Quotidien- My favorite Café in Brussels, Belgium. I later found out this restaurant was a chain which I didn't like but it started in Belgium and its all organic so I fell in love. Soft boiled eggs & bread- Very simple breakfast but delicious especially with the homemade marmalades.
Le Pain Quotidien Brussels, Belgium
Gourmet salads to go at a local café in Brussels Belgium
Le Pain Quotidien- Lunch Quinoa, grilled veggies, beet caviar, hummus, salad & carrot soup
Café Schmitz - Koln Breakfast - Plain yogurt with muesli and fruit. The yoghurt in Germany was delicious. Very fresh, not to sweet.
Berts Suppenstub, Frankfurt - The Zeil - Best place for to get soup in Frankfurt. Lentil vegetable soup with wheat sourdough bread - Delish !
I had to try the sausage even though I'm not the biggest sausage fan ! This was really good. Next to it was a German coleslaw - no mayonnaise just a bit of oil, vinegar, and chives
Raw Bar, Frankfurt. Raw vegan café Frankfurt. The desserts were delicious. I tried a pecan bar which had a macadamia nut crust with pecans and date spread on top.
Raw Bar, Frankfurt. The fresh juices were delicious.
Raw Bar, Frankfurt- additional supplements you can add to juice or smoothie- Matcha powder, Maca powder, Raw Cacao, spirulina, turmeric
I had the Hulk- Spinach, cilantro, parsley, cucumber, carrot, apple (delicious green juice!)- It tasted really good with beets as well ! Red Hulk
Bert Suppenstub, Frankfurt The Zeil. Yellow split pea soup!
Favorite Soup place in Munich ! At the farmets market- Viktualienmarkt. Love this place. Curry vegetable soup with coconut milk
Café Ruffini - Favorite café in Munich. The people were so friendly. I got to sample a few of the dishes before ordering. This one was a chickpea curry salad.
Café Ruffini, Munich - Dinner- Pureed lentil soup and salad
Café Ruffini- Breakfast. When I was in Germany I loved having coffee with something a bit sweet. Cherry almond torte. Delicious- very homemade, real cherries, not that sweet (which I liked), slivered glazed almonds on top.
Japanese Restaurant Munich, Black pepper salmon with teriyaki balsamic glaze
Chocolate Lava Cake with black sesame seed icecream- amazing!
Heart of Joy - Healthy Café - Salzburg Austria Apple cake
