Ingredients
- 6 apples, peeled and sliced
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 8 dates, pitted, chopped
- 1 cup dried currants or raisins
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- juice of 1 orange
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Combine all ingredients except the orange juice. Place in an 8 x 8 inch baking pan and drizzle the orange juice on top.
- Cover and bake for about one hour until all ingredients are soft, stirring occasionally.
Note: You can also simmer this in a covered pot for 30 minutes on top of the stove, stirring occasionally.
